GDIF 2024 | London’s free, annual outdoor performing arts festival 23 August-8 September 2024
Join us for an evening with the first ever Woolwich Laureate as she launches her new book Girl, Woman, Other.
Bernardine Evaristo, who grew up in Woolwich, is the award-winning author of eight books of fiction and verse fiction that explore aspects of the African diaspora. She is Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University London.
Girl, Woman, Other is a celebration of black British womanhood through the stories of twelve characters aged 19-93. With vivid originality, irrepressible wit and sly wisdom, Evaristo presents a gloriously new kind of history for this old country: ever-dynamic, ever-expanding and utterly irresistible.
