FESTIVAL.ORG is the trading name of Greenwich+Docklands Festivals, a company limited by guarantee. We are registered in England & Wales (company number 287 6062) and VAT registered (VAT number 629 9872 73). We are also a registered charity (charity number 1037878). Festival.org’s registered address is Festival.org, Old Royal Naval College, Pepys Building, 2 Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich, London, SE10 9LW.
We understand that your personal information and privacy are important to you. We make every effort to ensure that the information you share with us is recorded accurately, retained securely and used only according to your wishes. We protect your personal information and adhere to all current data protection act legislation with respect to protecting privacy. We do not give out, sell or trade our mailing list data with external organisations.
How does FESTIVAL.ORG use your information?
We aim to be clear when we collect your data and not to do anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect.
If you sign up to our mailing list, book tickets, apply to be a volunteer, respond to an event survey or give a donation, we usually collect your name and contact details. Where it is appropriate (and you have the right to decline to give this information) we may also ask for your age, gender, ethnicity, information relating to your health or, if making a donation, why you have decided to donate to us.
We use this data to provide you with the events, products, services or information that you asked for, to ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted, to understand how we can improve our communications or events, to administer your donation, or to process Gift Aid.
We may share anonymised personal information with other organisations, particularly Arts Council England, who use this to help understand the impact of the public investment made in Festival.org. Some of our events are presented in partnership with other companies. We will share anonymised postcodes with them. If you opt to join their mailing list we will give them your name and contact details.
We will not otherwise share your personal information with third party organisations.
When someone visits our website, we use Google Analytics to collect statistical data and details of visitor patterns which tell us which parts of our website visitors use most often. None of this information uses, or requires the use, of personal information and is processed in a way that does not identify individuals. We do not make any attempts to find out the identities of individuals visiting our website.

Most of the events at GDIF and produced by Festival.org are free, but there are some events that are ticketed. We collect your name and contact details when you book to attend a Festival.org event. By booking for an event via Eventbrite these platforms you consent to the collection, retention and use of your personal information in accordance with the terms outlined below.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.
Third party organisations
Your information may be shared with us by independent fundraising sites if you make a donation to Festival.org, but only when you have indicated that you give your consent to hear from us. You should check the privacy policies of other websites when you provide your information to understand fully how they will process your data.
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer if you agree. These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of the website which helps us to provide you with the best experience possible when browsing our website and allows us to improve our site.
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings.
- For statistical analysis we collect information about how visitors use our site. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form that does not identify a visitor, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by making sure visitors are finding what they need easily;
- We embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. You cannot be personally identified from this and it is for playbacks of embedded videos only.

You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. We want to make sure that your information is accurate and up to date. You may also ask us to correct or remove any inaccurate information. We include the option for you to update your details or unsubscribe from our mailing list every time we send you our e-newsletter or send you information in the post.
