Part of Greenwich Fair
Duration: 15 minutes
Type: Dance, Theatre
Sorry – this event has already happened!
Promising both laughter and tears, this beautiful new duet for Candoco Dance Company from New Art Club’s Tom Roden draws on his experience as theatre-maker, comedian, choreographer and dancer. Playing with archetypes, this funny and impassioned performance will confound expectations and encourage you to question the way you see the world.
A Graceful Act of Stupidity will be performed as part of Greenwich Fair, GDIF’s two-day “festival within a festival” from 21-23 June, bringing together UK and international street arts companies to Greenwich Town Centre in a fun-filled, family-friendly extravaganza.
There is step-free access to A Graceful Act of Stupidity. There are sections of lawn at the Old Royal Naval College that have a slight kerb. Ramps will be in place and, in the event of wet-weather, we will install Trakway wherever possible.
Candoco Dance Company has been working with a d/Deaf consultant throughout the creation process to ensure this new duet is accessible. GDIF will have an interpreter available on Sunday only, however BSL is incorporated into the movement and the performers sign when they speak. Additionally, an access card designed specifically to accompany the piece will be distributed to audience members to offer further support
This area will be marked with a flag or sign and will have limited seating – please ask a GDIF Volunteer if you’re not sure where to go.
