What's On

Rainbow Ballet

Dulce Compania

This technicolour performance takes inspiration from the Bauhaus movement and the Triadic Ballets of the 1920s, which imagined movement as geometry. In this rainbow reinvention, costume, colour, stilts and formation choreography come together as two trios of dancers conduct a public space takeover. (Rainbow Ballet will also be presented at Dancing City on 5 September).

About the company

Since 2003 Dulce Compania is realizing extravagant performances that go beyond mainstream. Through high-quality and glamorous costumes, startling show ideas and professional actors from the fields of acrobatics, dance and acting we ensure an exceptional emotional experience. In doing so, we make use of our constantly growing repertoire of extraordinary walk-acts and show modules.

L’Uomo

Lo-Giudice Dance

This intimate and touching performance explores the impact of small gestures between two men. Caught between a place where delicate exchanges of affection and moments driven by the heart-felt become entangled with the discomforts of prejudice, L’Uomo examines and highlights the concerns same-sex couples can still face when holding hands or showing affection in public. (L’Uomo will also be presented at Dancing City on 5 September).

About the company

Lo-Giudice Dance are a small-scale touring dance theatre company built up of a constellation of artists based in north of England, driven by dancer, teacher and director Anthony Lo-Giudice. Their work explores the beauty, darkness and fragility of human experience through evocative dance theatre performances that are presented regionally, nationally and internationally.
