Part of Greenwich Fair

Duration: 30 minutes

Type: Dance, Theatre

Sorry – this event has already happened!

Grab your glad rags for this story of female beauty, as seen and told by the clothes of the world. Combining unconventional dance theatre with an abundance of costume changes, watch out for clothes flying through the air in this insightful and entertaining observation of beauty, of dissatisfaction and of the clothing industry.

Life is Short. Buy that Dress will be performed as part of Greenwich Fair, GDIF’s two-day “festival within a festival” from 21-23 June, bringing together UK and international street arts companies to Greenwich Town Centre in a fun-filled, family-friendly extravaganza.

About the show

Directie & Co is an Amsterdam based company consisting of dancers and physical performers, and guided by choregrapher/director Yvonne van den Akker. Their central focus is making dance theatre for festivals and site specific performances – thus making the outdoors their theatre.

Combining unconventional dance theatre with sublime visuals, Directie & Co strives to create theatrical situations out of the ordinary, catching the audience by surprise. The experience of the audience is always at the heart of the performance, and Directie & Co work with dancers who combine movement with theatre, and who aren’t afraid of interacting with the public.
