Walking On The Wall

30 August & 31 August | Timings tbc | Design District Basketball Court, Building C1, Cripps Yard, Greenwich Peninsula, SE10 0BQ

Duration: 10 Minutes

What to Expect: Sensory spectacle

Rub your eyes as ingenious staging enables a performer to walk on walls.

This second performance from Compagnie Barks uses inventive staging to enable a performer to defy gravity and walk on walls. Conceived by artistic director Bastien Dausse as an escape from the commonplace, this performance will showcase the playful architecture of the Design District encouraging us to celebrate creativity in everyday life.

Walking on The Wall is supported by Greenwich Peninsula, The Royal Borough of Greenwich, Royal Greenwich Festivals and Arts Council England.

Compagnie Barks

Compagnie Barks is a contemporary circus company created around the desire to play with gravity. Bastien Dausse created the show Les idées grises with François Lemoine in 2016. This first show has been performed around a hundred times in France and abroad (Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy), and the short form was notably presented in 2016 at the Avignon Festival IN. Bastien Dausse continues his research by developing new projects. (Dis)balance is at the heart of his work, and he plays with gravity by combining acrobatic material with scenography, sculpture, science and other genre encounters. By imagining multiple performances, he aims to shake up the laws of physics and question our relationship with everyday life. For the Moon / cabinet of lunar wonders project, Bastien has surrounded himself with a team of circus artists and dancers: Julieta Salz, Alvaro Valdés, Morgane Maret and Romane Vivier.
