GDIF 2016

In 2016 GDIF celebrated its 21^st birthday and what a party we had!

The festival opened with The House, a spectacular show written and directed by GDIF’s Bradley Hemmings, marking the 400^th anniversary of The Queen’s House which re-opened later that year following an extensive renovation. Alongside festival favourites like Greenwich Fair and Dancing City, there was an extraordinary new outdoor theatre production, Silence, by renowned Polish company Teatr Biuro Podróży in Bethnal Green Gardens; a participatory cardboard construction event, The People Build, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park led by the French artist Olivier Grossetête; and the family-focused ‘Moat Island’ at Well Hall Pleasaunce in Eltham.
