A spectacular son-et-lumiere reawakening Romford’s lost Liberty fountain, staged in one of the UK’s largest and oldest market squares.
A lost landmark returns to the heart of Romford — a meeting point between past, present and future.
As night falls, one of London’s largest and oldest markets comes to life. Light, projection and sound ripple across the space, reawakening the spirit of the iconic Liberty fountain and the stories it holds. Created by David Shearing, with text by Vickie Donoghue, sound by James Bulley and video projection by Novak, Meet Me by the Fountain brings echoes of memories together in a spectacular experience.
Meet Me by the Fountain weaves together voices and images of the market’s 775 history: from its origins, to the medieval, from wartime to the 80’s, from today and into an imagined future…

Sensory Spectacle – This is a projection and sound installation. There will be moving lights and images projected on to a structure.
BSL – There will be live BSL on Friday 29th for one performance. More details coming soon

This show is relaxed. This means you can come and go as you please, move around and make noise.
Level Access
There are level access routes at this site and it is hard standing.
There will be short ramps onto raised areas.
Access Viewing Areas
A staffed access viewing area for disabled audience members will be marked with a sign or flag. Space for wheelchair users, companions and seating with and without arms will be available.
The viewing area will have volunteers and staff available throughout the event.
Accessible Toilets
There will be accessible toilets on site.

There are many accessible car parks surrounding Romford Market Place between a 5 and 8 minute journey away.
