Traditional art of Indian and Persian miniature paintings come to life in this South Asian dance performance, transporting you back in time to the richness of the Mughal Empire with a surprising contemporary twist
Mughal Miniatures: The Awakening is a funny, joyful, and empowering journey of discovery complete with incredible dancing and a brilliant original soundtrack
Meet the feisty Queen and her attendants who have got tired of life in their restrictive frames. With your help, they’ll break free and work out where they truly belong.

About Sonia Sabri Company
Established in 2002 and joining the Arts Council’s National Portfolio in 2012, Sonia Sabri Company (SSCo) is led by Artistic Director, Sonia Sabri and Musical Director, Sarvar Sabri. We are a Birmingham Hippodrome associate company and partner with many organisations across the West Midlands.
Their award-winning productions are rooted in Kathak and Indian classical music but draws on contemporary influences to create distinctive, relevant and accessible artistic experiences for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Sonia Sabri Company also provides enjoyable, informative and meaningful learning and participatory opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and levels of experience, spanning dance, music, storytelling and visual arts to explore South Asian culture. SSCo offer a range of exciting classes, workshops, and training programmes for schools, community groups, HE/FE establishments and emerging dancers and musicians.

Site Access
All shows at ParkWorks are free to attend. Just show up.

Park Work is a relaxed event. You can join and leave at any time, move around and make noise.
Level Access
Level access on hard standing with ramps for accessible entrance.
Access Viewing areas
An access viewing area for disabled audience members will be marked with a sign or flag. Space for wheelchair users, companions and seating with and without arms will be available.
Quiet Space
A covered Quiet Space will be avaible for anyone who wishes to escape the crowds for some chill out time in a low sensory comfortable environment.
Accessible Toilets
Mobile changing places facilities with a hoist and changing bench will be available at ParkWorks. Please bring a sling to use the hoist.
There will also be accessible toilets on site.
