GDIF 2024 | London’s free, annual outdoor performing arts festival 23 August-8 September 2024
WOMAN, LIFE, FREEDOM!
26 August | 8pm | Stratford Park, Stratford, E15 4PT
Duration: 30mins
Free
“Woman, Life, Freedom!” has become the rallying roar of Iran’s protest movement following the death of Mahsa Amini almost a year ago.
This stirring production reveals the colour, warmth and vitality of Iranian culture, for which a courageous young generation are currently fighting.
Unearthing the extraordinary music and voices of women, which, in Iran cannot be heard freely, this is street theatre at its most powerful and impactful.
This event took place at Greenwich+Docklands International Festival 2023 and has passed.

Ameena Hamid Productions was set up to create joyful, honest and innovative high-quality theatrical, audio and live capture productions and to be a meaningful champion for those whose stories don’t get told. We believe that all people should have access to entertainment that reflects their experiences. Whether they want to work in the entertainment industry or not, everyone deserves to feel at home in an audience. AHP commits to making sure that in ours, they do. Our audiences are the beating heart of what we do.
The work we produce brings underrepresented stories, people and storytellers to the forefront, both on and offstage. We actively expand the opportunity to work in this sector and to access representative entertainment, no matter your background.
AHP aims to increase inclusivity and representation in theatre and its audiences because leaving anyone out shouldn’t make sense.
