What to Expect: Sensory spectacle

Our final weekend offers a two day programme of street arts, performance, installation, dance and spectacle, celebrating community resilience, the environment and healing as we emerge from the pandemic. It will also symbolically reunite communities on both sides of the Thames – in Woolwich and North Woolwich, which until the 1960s were joined as the single Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich.
This unique cross-river programme features:
- Reflection Gardens: evening fire installations on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September
- Healing Together: daytime festival programme on 11 September

Unfortunately, we will be unable to present After the Storm by Walk the Plank this Saturday in the way we had planned, due to industrial action. Whilst we will not be presenting a spectacle on the Woolwich Ferry, the specially created soundtrack will be incorporated into Walk the Plank’s Reflection Gardens.

What's On
Access
Site Access
There is level access across all sites. At Royal Victoria Gardens, there are some short steep slopes where a volunteer will be stationed to support.
Viewing area
Viewing Areas available for all sites.
On-site walking distances
We recommend using the Ferry or the DLR between South and North Woolwich sites. There is some walking between each performance location within each stop.
Respite and Access Areas
Our Access Area in Royal Victoria Gardens will support you to choose events, use our Easy Read information, listen to digital Audio Descriptions and offer a relaxed, quiet area between shows.
Accessible Toilets
The Mobiloo will be on site in Royal Victoria Gardens – the mobile toilet with hoist and changing table. Please bring your own sling if you wish to use the hoist. Visit mobiloo.org.uk for more information.
An accessible public toilet is also available in the gardens.
Beresford Square public toilets will be open for Healing Together South 7am-9pm.

Royal Victoria Gardens: available on Woolwich Manor Way
Woolwich Town Centre: available at Woolwich Arsenal Station Car Park, or on-street parking on Calderwood Street, Monk Street, Powis Street.

Healing Together takes place at locations across Woolwich and Royal Docks.
Getting to Woolwich
Woolwich (Royal Arsenal) Pier, served by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers.
Woolwich Arsenal station – DLR and rail.
North Greenwich station – Jubilee line, and then bus routes 161, 422 or 472 to Woolwich Town Centre.
Woolwich Ferry – free.
Paid parking at Powis Street. Blue Badge parking available on Gunner Street.
